I have a confession to make: I have never been to a running expo. Because all of my races have been in my home state of Michigan, I’ve never traveled to a race that’s big enough to host an expo.
But that won’t stop me from participating in this week’s Tuesdays on the Run even though the topic is best expo finds, of course! That’s where we link up with runner bloggers MCM Mama Runs, My No Guilt Life and Marcia’s Healthy Slice. This week, I’m going to share my best running finds.
I’ve shared my list of my eight favorite non-running things that make running better, but there are actually some running-specific things that are the bestest ever.
Best app: Couch to 5K, hands down. I’ve used it every single time I’ve had to start over because of injury and el husbando used it to start running just a couple of months ago. That despite the great C25K incident of 2015.
Best piece of gear: My Nathan fuel belt. I love it so much, I should marry it. My family calls it my luggage because it’s a little on the big side, but the thing lets me bring a lot of my favorite things with me.
Best running bra: Moving Comfort. I have several and they’ve all worn well, have provided adequate support for the, ahem, girls and don’t cause me any chafing, even on my sweatiest and longest runs.
Best bottoms: Skirt Sports. I am an ambassador captain, which means I get gear to test and a generous discount, but I only partner with them because I love their products and the company so much. My favorite warm-weather skirt is the Jaguar, closely followed by the Happy Girl.
My favorite cold-weather skirt is the Tough Girl. They all have handy pockets in the built-in pants and – get this – the bottoms don’t shift at all, no matter how much you move.
You can get 20 percent off your Skirt Sports with my discount code: LCR20.
Best socks: Smartwool. I <3 them so much, I even sleep in them. They’re soft, warm and last forever.
Best shoes: For me, it’s the Brooks Ghost. For you? Get thee to your local running store and be properly fitted to make sure you’re in the right shoe.
What about you? What are your favorite race expo or running-related finds?
